We’re glad you’ve chosen Zysk House in Winthrop, Maine as a part of your journey. To help make your transition smooth and your stay comfortable, we’ve created a guide of what to bring—and what to leave behind.

What to Bring

Clothing & Personal Items

  • Comfortable, season-appropriate clothing

  • Sleepwear, underwear, socks

  • Shoes (everyday wear, work boots if applicable, sandals/shower shoes)

  • Light jacket and/or winter coat depending on the season

  • Personal hygiene products (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)

  • Towels and washcloths

  • Laundry bag and detergent (free laundry available onsite)

Documents

  • Valid ID (driver’s license, state ID)

  • Insurance card (if applicable)

  • Any necessary prescriptions in original packaging

Other Essentials

  • Alarm clock (non-smart)

  • Notebook or journal

  • Reading materials (books, recovery-related literature)

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Cell phone and charger (may be restricted or stored depending on program phase)

What to Leave at Home

To maintain a safe and supportive environment, the following items are not permitted at Zysk House:

Prohibited Items

  • Drugs, alcohol, or any related paraphernalia

  • Weapons of any kind (including knives, pepper spray, etc.)

  • Pornographic or explicit materials

  • Products containing alcohol (mouthwash, hand sanitizer, etc.)

  • Vapes, e-cigarettes, or tobacco (Zysk House is a tobacco-free residence)

Restricted Electronics

  • TVs, gaming consoles, or smart home devices

  • Laptops or tablets (unless pre-approved by staff)

  • Bluetooth speakers or noise-disruptive electronics

Other

  • Pets or animals

  • Candles, incense, or anything with an open flame

  • Excessive belongings (limited storage space available)
